On May 13, YouGuang held a special showcase for students from its Drama and Young Hosts programs at a professional theatre in Vaughan. Stepping beyond the classroom and onto the stage, students presented what they had learned throughout the term through drama, hosting, and public speaking. (有光中文学校)

Drama students brought their characters to life through dialogue, movement, and expression, while students from the Young Hosts program confidently introduced and connected each performance. Some appeared completely at ease under the stage lights, while others were understandably a little nervous—but every child found the courage to complete their part and express themselves in front of an audience.

Behind every performance were weeks of learning, rehearsal, and teamwork. Memorizing lines, understanding characters, projecting their voices, learning stage positions, and working with others all helped students strengthen not only their language skills, but also their focus, confidence, teamwork, and ability to communicate in public. At YouGuang, we believe the stage should not belong only to children who are naturally gifted performers. Every child deserves the opportunity to be seen, encouraged, and heard.
When a child overcomes nervousness, steps into the spotlight, and speaks that first line with confidence, growth has already begun.

We are grateful to our teachers for their dedicated guidance and to our families for their continued support. Every child who stepped onto the stage that evening was a star in their own way.
Where growth happens.
