Since the very first day YouGuang Chinese School was founded, we have followed one simple policy:

Families may stop at any time and request a refund for unused tuition. There is no refund deadline and no cancellation or processing fee.

This is not a policy limited to one campus or one particular program.

It applies to all YouGuang Chinese School campuses, all regular programs, enrichment programs, and summer camps.

For an education organization, this is not a small commitment.

If families were constantly leaving, a policy like this could create significant pressure on enrollment, staffing, and school operations. So why has YouGuang been willing, from the very beginning, to give families this level of freedom?

There are two important reasons.

First, we have confidence in the quality of our teaching

A cancel-anytime refund policy only works when a school has genuine confidence in what it provides.

If the curriculum is weak, the teaching is inconsistent, or children are not making meaningful progress, giving every family the freedom to leave at any time can quickly become a serious challenge for a school.

For us, this policy is therefore also a form of accountability.

It requires us to continually ask ourselves:

Are our students truly learning Mandarin?

Are they becoming more willing and confident in using the language?

Are their reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills progressing?

Are our teachers giving every child the attention and responsibility they deserve?

Is the learning experience worth the time and tuition families invest?

Only by continuing to answer these questions through the quality of our teaching can we confidently tell families:

If one day you feel YouGuang is no longer the right fit for your child, you are free to leave.

A family should never stay simply because a contract makes leaving difficult.

They should stay because their child is learning and growing.

Second, we do not believe in using refund barriers to keep students

Families change. Children change.

Schedules may change. A family may move. A child may enter a different stage of learning. Sometimes, after attending for a period of time, a parent may simply decide that a particular program is no longer the best fit for their child.

We believe that is a normal part of education.

A school should not rely on complicated refund rules, restrictive deadlines, large cancellation fees, or “no refund” clauses to keep a family enrolled when they no longer wish to continue.

That is not the relationship we want to build with our families.

At YouGuang Chinese School, parents should always have a genuine choice.

We do not want to retain students by making it difficult to leave. We want to retain them through the quality of our education.

When a family chooses to continue with YouGuang, we want the reason to be simple:

Their child is learning, growing, and benefiting from the experience.

More than a refund policy

For YouGuang Chinese School, this has never been merely a financial policy.

It reflects a broader belief about the relationship between a school and its families:

A school should be accountable for the quality of its education, and families should have the freedom to choose.

That principle has remained unchanged since our first day.

Across every YouGuang campus, every regular program, every enrichment program, and every summer camp, we continue to follow the same commitment.

We want families to stay because of our teachers, our curriculum, and the progress they see in their children.

Not because it is difficult to leave.
