Enrollment is now open for the 2026 YouGuang Mandarin Summer Camp at our Richmond Hill main campus.
Known for its strong educational program, engaging activities, and excellent value, our summer camp has become a popular choice among families year after year.
For 2026, the camp has been upgraded in several important ways. One of the biggest additions is our nearly 2,000-square-foot indoor children’s fitness centre, occupying an entire floor of our Richmond Hill campus.
With professional sports flooring, padded safety walls, and a variety of fitness equipment, children have a dedicated space to stay active every day throughout the summer.
At YouGuang, we believe a great summer should include both meaningful learning and plenty of movement.
Our summer camp also provides an immersive Mandarin environment, giving children valuable opportunities to listen to, speak, read, and actively use Mandarin throughout the day.

1. Mandarin Learning
Our well-established leveled literacy and reading program uses Youguang’s independently developed Summer Curriculum Series B.
The Chinese characters introduced during summer camp are aligned with our regular academic-year curriculum, making the program suitable both for new students who want to make rapid progress and returning students who want to review and strengthen their skills.
With concentrated summer learning, students can make significant progress in a relatively short period of time. For the strongest learning results, we recommend enrolling for four or more consecutive weeks.
The program also includes:
* Systematic Pinyin instruction
* Classic Chinese picture books
* Chinese idiom stories
* Fables and traditional stories
* Fairy tales
* Whole-book reading
Through these activities, children strengthen independent reading skills while naturally developing a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture.
2. Fun and Enriching Camp Activities
Summer at YouGuang is about much more than classroom learning.
Children participate in a wide variety of activities throughout the week, including:
* Morning singing, movement, and exercise
* Weekly Thursday classroom drama performances
* Fun Chinese character challenges and games
* Traditional Chinese arts and crafts
* Science experiments
* Little Bakers activities
* The YouGuang Kids’ Market every Friday, helping children develop early financial literacy and communication skills
* Educational visits and exploration activities
* At least one hour of physical activity every day in our own indoor children’s fitness centre
* Weekly sports games and competitions
* Special guest sessions with artists, painters, writers, dancers, yoga instructors, and other professionals
* School-bus field trips
Every week brings new experiences, giving children opportunities to learn, explore, create, perform, exercise, and make friends.
